It always seems that things that inconvenience you- that those things will happen when you least expect it. Today I was doing laundry and cleaning the house. After cleaning out my oven, which took about an hour, the clothes were still running. Odd. I opened the dryer, clothes still wet. And the timer had not moved from where I turned it. So….I have no clue what is wrong with it. But with the holidays coming up, it couldn’t have happened a a worse time. Oh no, the dryer couldn’t decide to mess up until now, when the weather tends to be damp, cold & cloudy…not earlier in the year when it was so hot that our clothes dried on the line as fast as I could wash & hang them up, then switch out for another load. Seriously, Georgia heat & humidity can instantly dry jeans…just kidding (or am I?…hummmm). I have only made a couple of things. One skirt in that fancy twirl ruffle pattern. I forgot what it was called (something beginning with an R). I’ll have to do a search for it. But anyway, I saw this kid wearing one-one of those in a way that makes you think “boutique” & I was like…I can do that.Well, after several failed attempts at the math on those wild french (almost) curves, I got it down. So, now in digital I can just adjust the math & pieces to get the waistline right & the rest will follow. Oh, and it’s a redondo skirt! (had to google when I remembered, I was spelling it wrong in my head.) I realize there are usually patterns to buy out there for probably everything I have made…if I felt like searching & waiting for them. But I like trial& error, making my own. And then I am not left with disappointment of a “bought” pattern. Though I do on occasion. And let’s see (I’ve got a few things cut out) I have a new yarn project bag-in sushi print, very cute, and huge! The larges would probably be good for someone how makes sweaters… or blankets. I could pack a weekend bag for myself in that. Well, still a few more things to work on, hopefully. Trying to get my house all clean & organized, I even painted the bathroom! My mom & step dad are coming to stay for Thanksgiving…so I’m sure I won’t have much time to work on anything. I’m hoping to stock as soon as possible. I need money to fix my dryer.
