another goodbye

Frankie’s funeral was a good service. I think he would have liked it. I wish more of his friends had been able to come, but it was on Monday afternoon, and they could not get off work. I miss him. I’m sad cause every time I start “getting over it”, somebody else dies. This has been a really emotional year for our family. But, I have been sewing and I will try to stock as soon as I can. I spent most of the last week making some promo items, so I know the next 30-40 sales will get some nice thank you gifts for their purchases.

Vacation’s over

Fishing, Friends, Local, Outdoors, life 1 Comment »

We had a pretty nice “stay”cation….since we didn’t “go” anywhere. We did leave Kayden with MIL while me & the hubby did some night fishing on the lake with his boss. Hit all the thrift stores, ate out a few times, and bought one of those filtered pools, not too big, but big enough for us to swim/play in, and for little man to learn to swim in. And a bit of uplifting is that my dad has been released from the hospital.
But this morning, all that vacation fun as been forgotten, because another one of our friends died. Frankie Norman was hit & died instantly last night in a wreak. I can’t even think properly this morning. Why do I keep losing people? Why does it seem like everyone keeps dying?… which is worst than them moving away..cause that’s forever.

J Tribe Creations is now on facebook! Become a fan of our shop to stay up to date on every stocking, surprise listings, giveaways, and more!
In personal news, my mom is doing very well on her new medication & her blood sugar levels are moving more towards normal range. So that’s good news. I had lunch with her & my step dad yesterday. In bad news, my dad was in a wreak, in the hospital now, but he had the wreak because he suffered a stroke. Next week, from the 13-18 of June my husband will be taking some vacation time & we will be enjoying this time together around our hometown (no out of town trips planned or in budget this year unfortunately). Maybe together we can finally get Kayden to use the potty. Due to the upcoming break & my father’s condition, communication may be limited. Thanks for your continued support of J Tribe Creations!

June already?

This year is flying by. I just finished up another BIG custom order- 4 separate “presents”. Which means my “plate is clean” and I am open for new ones! But wanted to share a different custom. It was a present for a one year old girl’s birthday, a waldorf style doll- with a couple of outfits, including matching dresses for the little girl & the doll. I even made the doll a tiny OBV giraffe stuffie. I edited the photo because the girl’s name was on her chair. But isn’t she so adorable! I LOVE action shots!

Let’s see, what else have I been doing? Working in my yard, on my garden, “school”at home with Kayden (we’re not taking a summer break…I don’t see the point). Got visited by our good friend Danny from HI…well, that’s where he lives now anyways.one day I want to go visit him! I’m sure there’s more, but I can’t think of what it could be right now. Life gets busy. Oh,I know, I finally made it to our new farmer’s market. I got some soap & plums. I’d really like to get a pop up tent so I could attend some festivals & markets myself. Just one more big thing on the “I wish I had that” list! And i am attempting to learn Esperanto. If I have time, I’ll post more on that later.

Memorial Day

Cooking, Friends, Georgia, Local, business, life, stocking No Comments »

Ah, we enjoyed this holiday weekend. I had a few HC$ auctions running on my shop, it was quite exciting. :) AND we got to visit with our good friend Danny A, who had moved to Hawaii a few years ago. I do miss him, and it was fab to be able to hang out -even if for only a little while. We always grill out on Memorial Day, one of our few “traditions” that me & hubby have together. I grilled out some delicious bbq chicken, & we also had fresh corn, black eye peas with jalapenos, and honey cornbread…yum!
I LOVE doing customs- especially big ones! I completed one, and got another huge request just 2 days later. That works out great for me. So it may be a few weeks before I stock again. Customs first though, always first! I also finally joined facebook, a personal page, but I am really enjoying it, I even found a few of my old friends from Ohio. I just wish I could remember some of the last names. well, hope that is enough of an update for now.I have sewing to do, then dinner. A mother’s work is never done!

Sleepless night

business, gardening, life, music, stocking No Comments »

Having so insomnia tonight, can’t sleep. So,might as well stay up. There’s a great sale going on at my shop right now for Memorial Day weekend. Got some nice goodies. Finished the custom for S. one blond waldorf girl doll, 2 dresses, pair of pj’s, a tiny stuffed giraffe for the doll, and a dress for the little girl all this is intended for, with one of the doll dresses matching, oh,and a headband too. Quite the order, but what a nice present for a 1st birthday. I was honored to make it for her. So now, again, I am open for new customs as that was last on my list! And I will be working on some new items to stock.
On a different note, personal life- doing okay. Still missing Chris, been 2 months gone now, but it seems like forever & yesterday at the same time. Still trying to fill that void. My garden is doing well, except the broccoli…something has been eating the leaves, I’m unsure what exactly..maybe slugs. Here’s a pic of Kayden holding the very 1st edible from the garden- a nice plump radish. Not much, but it’s just the beginning.

And because he’s just so darn cute when he gets on the turntables, I wanted to share just one more pic of lil man.

Raised Gardening Bed

gardening 1 Comment »

I built myself a raised bed frame for gardening yesterday from some scrap lumber, about 3.5′x5′ in size. Nothing fancy, but fairly squared. I haven’t finished getting the plot ready for it yet, because it started raining. Hard too, knocked a couple of my plants down. That one tomato plant needs to be staked anyways. The fact is, several of my plants have exceeded my expectations by outgrowing their pots! Which is why I have built the bed. I moved the birdbath to that spot in the middle of my yard that still has no grass, A defiant improvement on the landscaping. The bed will go in it’s place, a giant spot that was filled with a scattering of grass & weeds, but conveniently next to the walkway. The weather has been so nice lately,so we’ve been spent a lot of time outside instead of inside. And I really know I should get some sewing done but here in Georgia by mid summer it may be too hot to enjoy being outside.

one more angel

life 2 Comments »

My heart goes out to C & L, I am so sorry to say that Sophia passed away today. Because of all the advancements in science & medicine, especially with micro preemies, I had high hopes that she’d be okay. So heaven, once again, has gained another angel today.

mid May

Fishing, Outdoors, business, gardening, life No Comments »

This year is flying by. So my mother’s day was sort of blah, nothing big to report, I did get this cute lil dress. I ate lunch with my mom the day before. It was nice. Getting a lot of custom requests. I wanna keep up if I can. My stocking will be delayed until next week I’m sure. Nothing much else to say, feeling pretty down this week. Went fishing yesterday, caught nothing. Well, guess I need to eat lunch, I keep losing weight but I’m not totally sure why I haven’t had any appetite, even for my favorite foods. I wish I had some insurance. My garden is doing well & starting to make some veggies & fruits.

Oh and you can totally subscribe to my blog now, though whatever blog reader you use, or the RSS feed. OR you can email me and I will be happy to add you to the email list!

where’d the time go?

Dreams, Local, Survival, business, gardening, life, stocking No Comments »

I get busy, I admit…who doesn’t. And I only have time for a quick update. Next stocking is in a few weeks, a few “goodies” just for WAHMs/indie biz owners, keep an eye out for that announcement.
Still waiting on fabrics, then I’ll have these customs all done.
My mom was NOT put on insulin, the dr is trying her on 2 other oral meds 1st, fingers crossed that this works! He sugar is still out of control. I am actually having a late lunch with her today, can’t wait to see her. I hope she likes the present I made her.
And I have FOOD growing, yep, tomatoes are starting to form, and I can’t wait to eat some! At least all my hard work on this garden is starting to pay off.
And last, but not least, please send all your positive vibes/wishes/thoughts and prayers out to my hubby’s cousin, and their new baby, Sophia, she’s a micro preemie. I hope all the angels i know in heaven will watch over her as she grows and gets better. I can’t get over how very tiny she is. Hang in there lil lady, there’s a great big world we all want you to be a part of with us.
