It’s a bit overwhelming when I think of all that is “happening” right now. I just returned from Wanee Festival and it was a much needed mini vacation for just me & the hubby. It was also the 1st time leaving my youngest for an extended period & leaving the state- but this mama did “okay”. Yes- it surprised me too. Needless to say it was truly an amazing with an incredible line-up and we are already planning our return in 2013. I am feeling very inspired & hope to hop back on my sewing machine in my studio to start making some of these ideas- once my house is back to normal & all this camping gear is put away until our next trip. I was asked if I would ever vend at Wanee- and though it’s not unreasonable vending fees for the crowd it draws, I would much rather go enjoy the music than spend that time selling. Maybe some other festival.
So some many have noticed that my Hyena Cart shop is now inactive. I’ve been going back & forth on my decision to “stay” with HC. It’s where I started out selling online over 4 years ago- but I feel I am also outgrowing it’s “mostly for babies” set. I’m just not making sales like I used to since I stopped offering as much children’s gear & wear since the big CPSIA changes last year. But it will remain up for now because of my galley & feedback there. Maybe someday I will restock there, but for now JTC will hiatus from Hyena Cart. So I will be concentrating more sales & building up my Etsy shop. Keep an eye out for new stock soon.
And of course hooping! I hid a few hoops around Wanee with notes like “free hoop- get your dance on”. It was tons of fun- like hiding easter eggs. I’m happy to announce i will be teaching hoop dance at our local college, GC&SU. You can check out details of the 1st offered course HERE. I will also be doing hoop dance demos in at Milledgeville’s First Friday on May 4th from 6-8pm in front of the old Scoops on Wayne St. downtown.
Well, I may not blog that often- but life gets busy, and now…so must I… Until I find the time to blog again…carry on!
I’m happy to say I’m attending Wanee Festival this year- but purely for the pleasure. JTC wil not be selling at this venue, just relaxing to some good music. I’ve joined the digital street team in hopes to win a few extra tickets to gift so some of my friends might be able to come along. Please click the banner to check out more information!
I realized today, I have totally been blowing off things I need to do. But the holidays are over & now it’s back to the grindstone- in a manner of speaking. I did put on a few pounds I want to hoop away now. I’m currently as of today in the process of making new batiks for the store. I may even try to churn out some simple womens dresses. Yes, I have festival season on the mind. And for good reason too, this year we are hoping to make it to Wanee Festival. That would be such a fun vacation! Anyways, so that concludes my quick update. More blogging later- life gets busy & now so will I!

Alright, let’s finally get this giveaway started! Last month I questioned my Facebook friends & fans to which saying they preferred- “free hugs” or “cuddles anyone?” Overwhelmingly “Free Hugs” won. So I sketched up a few ideas on how I would batik this. So once again it’s up to you- the public- to decide! At the end of the giveaway one lucky person will be chosen to receive a FREE CUSTOM shirt of the FREE HUGS design, before we even offer them in one of the shops!
So here are the designs. While I did color them in as examples of how they could look- any colors as always could be used.

I have become such a slack blogger…I know, I know. And so much has happened that I cannot & will not even attempt to catch up. We started homeschooling with the K-12 program. Started out rough but we are finally into the swing of things. I’m still sewing & hooping. As of late I have “sew” busy making costumes! Halloween is right around the corner too. Once I am all done with that I will be moving on thinking of Christmas. And I’m telling you now- please get your orders in early. I will be having a cut off date this year to avoid how overwhelmed I was last year! AND October celebrates FOUR years selling online! Yay!!! Thanks to all our lovely customers for their continued support. I’ll blog again later (I never am not busy!) about a special giveaway or check out our facebook page for special deals & savings!
I’m closing down my artfire shop this weekend and opening up at Esty…yes, finally.
No changes at my home shop located on Hyena Cart, too much love there to leave!
I’d like to announce I am closing my ARTFIRE SHOP in just a few weeks. I was just giving another venue a test run so to speak. But I am not very happy with the venue itself after a few months. I am toying around with the idea of opening a shop on Etsy.com or just having new products my own website J Tribe Creations. Maybe you’d like to chime in on your opinion? Of course my HyenaCart shop will remain open and soon I will be celebrating four years there.
In other news, school soon approaches and this year my youngest starts Kindergarten in mid August and we are going to home-schooling with the K-12 program & we are very excited. BUT due to this new transition in life we will be closed for customs for around a month as we adjust our new schedule (please take this into consideration for ordering for Halloween costumes for October-one of my most busiest times for customs). I will announce on both my blog here & our FaceBook page when custom orders will be accepted once again. Again, thanks so much for your continued support & business.
